Ashley Lotz: Alumni Success Story

lotz

MBU alum Ashley Lotz (’13) comes from a large family history of teachers, with everyone in her immediate family in the field of education. She currently serves as 4th grade teacher at Parkside Elementary in North St. Francois County School District.

In her time studying at MBU’s Farmington Regional Learning Center, Lotz said Adjunct Professor of Education Nancy Rouggly had a big influence on her.

“She was always very helpful and understanding.” Lotz said. “I loved how she would light up when sharing stories about her experiences as a classroom teacher. She truly has a passion for her students’ education.”

Earlier this year, Lotz was recognized by the Missouri Association for Colleges of Teacher Education as one of the state’s Outstanding Beginning Teachers. There were 61 teachers from across the state recognized for their excellence serving students in the first two years in the classroom. She was presented with an engraved plaque to hang in her classroom.

A story of shining on.
