All students, except for those pursuing library media specialist certification, will complete the Missouri Pre-Service Teacher Assessment (MoPTA) in conjunction with this course. Missouri Pre-service Teacher Assessment (MoPTA)

As a field supervisor or cooperating teacher, you may find useful information on the ETS website for Missouri Performance Assessments for Educator Preparation Programs. The webpage on Supporting Missouri Pre-Service Teacher Assessment (MoPTA) Test Takers may be particularly helpful. Below is the MoPTA information which we are providing to students.

As candidates are placed for student teaching, MBU is developing a list that identifies schools and districts which permit the video and which do not. You should register for the Task 4 with Video unless the district or school in which you are placed does not allow video. Schools Which Allow MoPTA Video

DESE and ETS conducted a series of webinars during the FA-15 semester to assist candidates with issues related to the four MoPTA Tasks. Links to the recorded webinars are provided here.

Professional Development Plan

For 2017-2018, the Professional Competency Profile is being renamed as the Professional Development Plan. All references to the Professional Competency Profile below are relevant to the Professional Development Plan.

Professional Competency Profile Webinar:  The Professional Competency Profile Webinar was presented and recorded Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Dr. Hairston discussed a variety of aspects related to the purpose, development, and use of the Professional Competency Profile. It is important for candidates to review the presentation. The webinar included written comments from four building principals and commentary from Linda Kaiser (HR Director @ Park Hill School District, Kansas City) about the importance of this document in connecting preparation to practice as a first year teacher. The webinar runs 58 minutes in length.
